Danville, IL - Robert "Bob" W. Goth, 71, of Danville passed away at 4:57 PM on Friday, September 29, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Healthcare Transitional Care Hospital in Peoria, IL. He was born January 8, 1952 in Litchfield, IL to William Kenneth and Deloris Ann (Davis) Goth.

He is survived by two children, Chris Goth and Justina (Otis) Sharp, both of Highland, IL; seven grandchildren, Kassidy, Katrina, Tatum, Savannah, Brodie, Christopher, and Harper; brother, William "Bill" Goth and a sister, Cindy Goth; nieces and nephews, Amy (Chris) Jennings, Billy Joe, Shauna, Sarah, and Leslie; several great-nieces and nephews; and special friends Patty and Pancho Juarez.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard "Rich" Goth, and a sister, Debbie Goth.

The family would also like to extend a big thank you to a special, most amazing nurse, Ruth Hays.

Bob served his country in the United States Air Force from 1971-73. As a Vietnam Veteran, he spent his time helping other veterans get the support they needed and deserved. In addition to volunteering his own time, he helped those men and women through his work in Administration at the Danville VA. Bob was a man that stood up for what was right, and believed in doing the right thing regardless of who was watching. He also enjoyed spending time in our national, state, and county parks.

Per Bobs wishes, there will be no services at this time. Cremation rites have been entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834. Burial will take place at a later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Memorials made in his name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
