Robert 'Bob' Skinner

Robert (Bob) Lee Skinner took his eternal ride on Friday, July 28, 2017. Born February 8, 1952 to Jesse and Vera Skinner in Danville, IL. His Legacy began in September 1974 with the birth of his first daughter Amy followed by his second daughter, Michelle in 1975 from his first marriage to Libbie Mink. That legacy continued in 1993 when he married Nancy Alexander in Cookeville, TN and together they had three daughters, Kayla, Sarah and Erin. Bob worked many years in construction before attending Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Livingston, TN where he received his Welding Certification. He returned to his roots in Danville where he and Nancy made their home and raised their daughters. He worked at Time-O-Matic before becoming the Welding Instructor at Danville Area Community College, where he was currently employed. Bob was a man of colorful words. He was a hard-working son, brother father and friend to those who knew him. He loved feeling the wind in his face whether it be on his Harley or his tractors. Bob is survived by his wife Nancy, his daughters, Amy McKasson, Michelle Skeen, Kayla Skinner, Sarah Skinner and Erin Skinner. He is also survived by his mother, brother, Jim Skinner, sisters, Susan Skinner Siddens and Anna Melecosky. Bob has 5 grandchildren and an expected great-grandchild. Bob is preceded by his Father, both his maternal and paternal grandparents, a great niece and his first wife. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11am Thursday August 3, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4pm to 8pm Wednesday August 2, 2017 at the funeral home.
