Robert 'Bob' Pouilliard

Robert "Bob" Pouilliard, 79 of Oakwood, passed away at 6:46 PM Monday, August 15, 2016 at his home. He was born January 22, 1937 in Oakwood, the son of Paul and Jennie (Demanette) Pouilliard. He married Sharon Stuebe on June 21, 1958 in Oakwood. She survives and will miss him dearly. Also surviving are his children, Michael (Leslie) Pouilliard and Timothy (Trisha) Pouilliard both of Oakwood; grandchildren, Erin (Bryan) Mooney, Mitchell Pouilliard, and Tannar and Tyler Pouilliard; sister, Rosie Pickett of Oakwood; as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul and Ernest Pouilliard; and sisters, Elizabeth Matthews, Emily "Millie" Lee, and Mary Lou Pouilliard. Bob attended Mission Field Grade School and graduated from Oakwood High School. He was an assembler at Hyster Co. for 36 years retiring in 2001. Bob enjoyed mushrooming and gardening. He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs Fan. He coached little league baseball for his sons and loved spending time with his grandchildren. In his younger years Bob would have his brother, Paul, get him out of school so that they could go fishing together. They continued to be fishing buddies later adding their nephew, Butch, and other relatives to the fishing trips. Bob also loved to travel. His wife Sharon and their friends would go on numerous bus trips. One of their favorite spots was Tunica, MS. Once a week Bob would get together with a group of his friends and go to dinner in Oakwood on Wednesdays. There will be a missed spot at the dinner table when the Oakwood Dinner Club gathers now. Bob left a lasting impression on many people and he will be forever missed by all he knew and loved. A celebration of Bob's Life will be held Friday, August 19, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Sunset's Oakwood Funeral Chapel, 105 E. South Main Street, Oakwood, IL. Pastor Dave Garver will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park, Danville. Visitation will be held from 11-1 PM Friday prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials can be made in Bob's name to Oakwood Ambulance Service.
