Robert 'Bob' Middelton

DANVILLE- Robert Bob Middleton, 79 of Danville, passed away at 2:40pm on Friday, January 25, 2008 at Provena USMC in Danville. Bob was born on April 12, 1928, in Danville, the son of Westly and Ida Seiler Middleton. Both deceased. Bob married Berneice Charles on December 3, 1949, in Danville. She preceded him in death in June of 2003. Survivors include several of his nieces and nephews. His brother: Westly W. Middleton and his three sisters: Dorothy Laker, Lois Collins, and Alice Ruth, precede Bob in death. Bob served in the U.S Marine Corps from 1951-1953, receiving several medals, including the Purple Heart during the Korean War. After the military, Bob worked for Zihill Dental Lab of Danville, as a dental technician, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the American Legion Post 210, and was a Golden Glove boxer. He was an avid Cubs fan, and enjoyed bowling, working in his garden and with flowers.
