Robert 'Bob' Jerrell

Danville - Robert 'Bob' Jerrell, 65, of Danville, IL, formerly of Seattle, WA passed away in the comfort of his home on December 13, 2018.

Bob was born April 24, 1953 the son of Fred Bryant and Joyce Ann (Hacker) Jerrell in Seattle, WA, where he spent the majority of his life until moving to Illinois in 2012.

Bob is survived by his wife, Jan Jerrell and daughter, Breannah (Darin) Haton both of WA & IL, father, Fred Jerrell of Normandy Park, WA, 3 sisters, Cindy Jerrell of Post Falls, ID, Debbie Davies of Kingston, WA, Lisa (Matthew) Johnson of Gig Harbor, WA & many others, both family and friends.

Bob is proceeded in death by his mother, Joyce Jerrell of Kingston, WA.

Bob joined the United States Marine Corp. in 1972 and was very proud and honored to serve his country. He always made it a point to honor and recognize all his fellow brothers and sisters that have served - past, present & future. SEMPER FI Bob!!!

Bob met Jan in 1980 and have been inseparable ever since, eventually marrying in 1991 in Washington. Jan was a package deal with her daughter, Breannah, who he welcomed whole heartedly and he quickly became her 'most favoritest step-dad in the world'. Bob often enjoyed working on and talking about cars with his many friends in WA & IL.

After moving to IL, Bob discovered a new passion...GOLF! He found a new family that welcomed him into their world with open arms and hearts. He loved it (and hated it all at the same time), calling it 'Geezer Golf' and often said he stayed to play another 9 holes because they 'needed 1 more guy'.

The biggest part of Bob was his heart and his love. When he loved, he loved BIG!!! He was the person that would drop everything to help, he would give the shirt off his back and the last dollar in his pocket for the ones he loved. He was constantly making people laugh with his 'child-like' antics and he always wanted to make people smile. When everyone was happy Bob was happy.

It was a true blessing to call him family and friend. Bob will be missed greatly by everyone he touched both near and far.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at Wolf Creek Golf Course, 2521 Perrysville Road, Danville, IL on January 12, 2019 at 1:00 PM. Military Rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 210 Honor Guard following services. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville is assisting the family with arrangements.
