Robert 'Bob' Gordon

Robert Bob E. Gordon, 74, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 8:10am, Sunday, November 21, 2010, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. He was born on November 3, 1936, in Chicago, IL, the son of Teddy and Bonedia {Foreman} Gordon, both deceased. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Jones on May 29, 1958, in Georgetown, IL. She will miss him dearly. Others who also will miss him include: his daughters, Karen Elaine (Steve) Sliva of Georgetown & Dianna Gordon of Champaign; his grandchildren, Erin (Kevin Byrne) Gordon of Chicago, Lexi Sliva of Georgetown, Ethan Sliva of Georgetown, Lily Jones of Champaign, & Katey Gordon of Champaign; his brother, William Bill (Pat) Gordon of Danville; his sister, Thelma Brown of Hillsdale, IN; and many, many good friends & neighbors. He was preceded in death by: his brothers, Ted & Warren; and two sisters, Phyllis & Mary Jo. Bob was a graduate of Newport Indiana High School and was also a proud Veteran of US Army serving in Alaska from 1956-58. He retired from TeePak with over 30 years of service. He was a member of the Ridge Farm United Methodist Church. Bob enjoyed socializing and loved to eat, as well as, going deer hunting & fishing. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends. Above all he dearly loved his family and bragged on his grandchildren to everyone. A celebration of Bobs life will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Chapel, A Life Celebration Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown, with Pastor Matt Filicsky officiating. Visitation will be held 4pm " 8pm, Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ridge Farm. Memorial donations may be given in his name to Ridge Farm United Methodist Church.
