DANVILLE - Robert L. “Bob” Epmeier, 82, of Danville passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Born November 24, 1932 in Danville, he was the son of Virgil and Pauline (Everett) Epmeier. He has been with the love of his life, Rosalinda (Rose) Walker, for nearly 35 years; and they were married in 2000. Bob proudly served his country with honor in the United States Army. He was a police officer for the Danville Police Department for 27 years. Bob also spent time working at the Vermilion County Courthouse as a bailiff, and at General Motors. He was a member of American Legion Post 210, the Danville Masonic Lodge, Anchor Lodge, and Olive Branch. He also enjoyed working with Shriners helping raise money for Shriners Childrens Hospital. Bob was an amazing cook and baker, and was well known for his ribs, cookies, fudge and cheesecakes. He was a Los Angeles Dodgers baseball fan, and loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Rose Epmeier of Danville; a daughter, Maria (Jeremy) Wolf of Danville; a granddaughter, Mercedes Wolf; two other grandchildren by choice, Aubriella Hill and Aiden Galey; a sister, Shirley Landsdown; a sister-in-law, Aileen Motsay; three nieces, Roberta (Lenny) Ritter, Chastity Galey and Brittanie Galey; and two nephews, Chuck Landsdown and Frankie Motsay; and great niece, Tammy Buckham. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step father, Walter Snider; a sister, Helen Watson; and brother-in-law, Ralph Watson. A service to celebrate Bobs life will be 10 a.m. Friday February 6th at Ridgeview Baptist Church, 3838 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Pastor Mark Keyser will officiate. Burial with military honors provided by Danville American Legion Post 210 will be at Sunset Memorial Park following services Friday. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday evening at the church with Masonic Rites presented at 6 p.m. Memorials have been established for Meals on Wheels CRIS Senior Services, and Shriners Childrens Hospital.
