Robert 'Bob' Downing

Robert "Bob" Downing, 74, of Westville, passed away at 1:25am, Monday, May 29, 2023, at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center, Urbana, IL. He was born in Potomac, IL, on June 14, 1948, the son of Kenneth and Janis {Talbott} Downing. He was united in marriage to Patty Jean Irby on February 23, 2007, until her passing on May 6, 2007. He is survived by his children, Brian (Karen) Downing and Leslie (Tom) Cavenaile; and his grandchildren, Henry (Marian) Downing and Cody (Tyler) Cavenaile. He was preceded in death by his parents; his infant son, Jamie; and his sisters, Diane and Gail. Bob worked in construction but was known most for owning and operating "Bobs Pumphouse" for over 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Bob loved being outdoors and staying busy. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of Bobs life will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois 414 S State St. Westville, Illinois 61883 with Jay Sorrell officiating. Visitation will be held 12:00pm to 2:00pm on Sunday prior to his service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery, Georgetown.
