Robert Dean Jackson is now resting in the comforting presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He died on Saturday, May 25, 2024, after years of kidney and heart disease.
This kind, generous, loving man entered this life on April 14, 1944, in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was the third son of Elsie Cheesewright Jackson and Gerald Jackson. Preceding him in death were an infant brother, Dale, and one other brother, Leon (Patricia) Jackson. He was also preceded in death by one son-in-law Chuck Haga.
Bob grew up on the family farm in the Scottland, Illinois area and graduated from Scottland High School.
On June 10, 1966, Bob and Cheryl Dailey were married. They were blessed with twin daughters Angela (Billy) Caudill and Andrea Haga.
In 1968, Midway Dry Cleaners was purchased by Bob and Cheryl. Later they acquired Custom Care Dry Cleaners and two laundromats. He took a real interest and enjoyed knowing his loyal customers. Bob was a long-time member of Second Church of Christ and he really appreciated being able to watch his church services on TV. Gardening, sharing what he grew, and photography were some of his favorite hobbies. He also enjoyed traveling, having visited most of the states. Sweden, Norway and Denmark were a favorite tour of all his trips.
One of his greatest joys was watching his grandchildren grow up. Robert Dean Caudill (Katelyn Welch) Shelbi (Bryce) Ricketts, Chelsi (Brendan) Hafner and Elizabeth (Devan) Lane. Then the nine great-grandchildren: Bryson and Coleson Caudill, Brynlee, Becca Hafner and soon to arrive Maylynn Ricketts, Kaydence, Keegan, Dax and Roman Lane.
