Robert 'Bob' Bracewell

Tilton Robert "Bob" Bracewell, 91, of Tilton, passed away at 9:07 AM on June 26, 2019 at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN.

Bob was born on July 31, 1927 the son of Byron and Eliza (Edwards) Bracewell in Danville, IL. He married Roseann Lindley on May 12, 1971 in Wichita Falls, TX and she preceded him in death on May 28, 2012.

Bob is survived by one daughter, Cynthia (Richard) Kay Slade of Franklin, NC, one brother, James Bracewell of Danville, IL, one sister, Dorothy Cessna of Danville, IL, two grandchildren, Jason (Gretchen) Mann of Sugar Grove, IL and Timothy Mann who is on Active Duty with the Air Force at Ramstein, Germany, as well as two great-grandchildren, Marshall and Scarlett Mann.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Roseann, and one brother, Joe Bracewell.

Bob was a member of Farmer Chapel United Methodist Church, a Life Member of American Legion Post 51, Life Member of VFW Post 728, a member of 40&8 Voiture 539, and a member of the Moose Lodge #1001. Bob served his country in the United States Navy in both WWII and the Korean War. He was the Plant Operator at Interstate Water Company for over 27 Years, until his retirement in 1990. Working for the water company was a family tradition. Bobs grandfather and father also worked for the same water company and the family had a combined total of 88 years of service. In his free time Bob enjoyed fishing, especially with his grandchildren, and traveling.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St., Danville, Illinois 61834 with Darla Holden officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2019, from 5:00 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Farmers Chapel United Methodist Church or American Legion Post 51 Honor Guard Fund.
