Rita White

Rita White, 91, of Danville passed away peacefully at her daughters house on Saturday, January 20, 2024.

Rita was born in Terre Haute, IN on Nov. 7, 1932, to Victor and Anna Reinhard. She married Robert (Bob)White on July 1. 1950.

They moved to Catlin and raised their family. Rita worked at the Catlin Post Office as Postmaster for many years and enjoyed an active social life with family and friends.

Bob and Rita retired to Apache Junction, Arizona where they enjoyed life and friends for 20 years. After Bobs passing in 2013, Rita moved to Danville to be closer to family, but she was always missing Arizona.

Rita will be hugely missed by her daughter Rhonda Botkin, sons Ray (Traci) White, Roger (Kim) White, her sisters Lou Johnson and Vickie Perry, her grandkids Rochelle (Al) Edwards, Ryan (Jami) Botkin, Brandon Lawhorn, Rob (Stacy) White, Rachel (Amanda) Meadows, Audrey (Steven) Vice, Lacey (Chris) Flowers, Leather Pryor, her Great Grandkids and Great-Great grandkids.

Rita loved being outside with the sun on her face, had a passion for reading, spending time exploring Danville and Catlin libraries, and going out to eat.

Proceeding her in death Robert (Bob) White, her son Randall White and her parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61834. Rod Godley will officiate. Inurnment will be in Sunset Memorial Park at a later date. Visitation will be held from 9-10:00 AM on Friday, January 26, 2024 at the funeral home.
