After WWII, Roberta, a city girl, moved with her husband and daughter to the Lambert Homeplace west of Georgetown, tackled and mastered the demands of country living. With the addition of a son, they ran a dairy farm for several years, turning later to cattle and hogs as the farming trends shifted in the area. In earlier days, Roberta rode behind her husband on his motorcycle, and then when in her 60s, she followed Herb driving her own snowmobile. Together, they taught square dancing for many years in Georgetown, forming lifelong friendships in the Kadiddlehoppers Square Dance Club. She enjoyed reading, spent many hours sewing, and loved caring for her flowers. Her family will miss the pies she baked with love for them to enjoy. Her strength in facing life's obstacles and enormous capacity for love are Roberta's greatest gifts to her family. She leaves for all her beautiful smile. The family would like to express special thanks to the angels at Colonial Manor Nursing Home and caregivers, especially, Jan Digby.
