Rita Kaye Foster, 66, of Danville, formerly of Gibson City, passed away at 10:50am on August 30, 2011 at Provena USMC. Rita was born on August 13, 1945 near Fisher, IL, to parents Elmer Kermit and Martha Ellen (Christman) Gosser. She married her devoted husband, Franklin Jay Foster, on October 11, 1963 in Gibson City. Surviving are her husband and three daughters, Kristine Kaye (Gregory) Curry of Lexington, KY, Kimberly Jayne (Scott Parry) Foster of New York, NY; and Kathleen Kelsi Foster of Champaign; one sister, Gretchen (Mick) Weburg of Show Low, AZ; one brother, Michael Gosser of Champaign; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Roena Lynn Enghausen. Mrs. Foster earned her Associate of Applied Science from DACC in 1993. For many years, she worked as a nanny caring for numerous young children in the Danville area. Rita loved traveling, redecorating her homes, landscaping, and spending time with her beloved dog, Jujube. She had a passion for unique cars and treasured her custom-made 1984 Cadillac Coupe de Ville. Mrs. Foster courageously fought multiple cancers and other medical ailments over the years. She had an impressive strength of spirit and served as a great inspiration to friends and family throughout her life. Her sense of humor and vibrant energy will be missed by those who loved her A visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the same location on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at 2:00pm with Rev. John Leonard officiating.
