Rita Karosas

Rita Veracunda Karosas, 85, of Danville, passed away at 7:20 p.m., Monday, December 18,2006 at Danville Care Center. Rita was born June 18,1921 in Lowell, Ma. the daughter of James and Matilda Burke Deignan. On June 17, 1944 she married Louis Peter Karosas in Lowell, Ma. He preceded her on February 17,2000. Surviving are her sons Louis (Agnes) Karosas of Champaign,IL Daniel Karosas of Danville,Il and John (Dawn) Karosas of Mankato,Mn.; daughter Margaret Mary (Virgil) Bailey of Danville. Grandchildren Agatha (Jerry) Barnes of Champaign, Angie (Jalal) Cherrabi of Orlando,Fl., Sasha and Tristan Karosas of Mankato,Mn.; brother James Deignan of Lowell,Ma. and sisters Marie Sweeney also of Lowell and Patricia DeMarco of Dracut, Ma. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant grandson and brothers Robert and William. Rita was an R.N. with the V.A. Medical Center for many years and also p.m. supervisor for 13 over 13 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crafting. A funeral mass to celebrate Ritas life will be held 10:00a.m.on Friday, December 22,2006 at St. Paulss Catholic Church in Danville. Officiating Fr. Greg Nelson. Visitation Thursday from 4-6:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials to St. Pauls Endowment Fund in her memory would be appreciated.
