Rita Ann Drummond

Perrysville, Ind. - Rita Ann Drummond, 80, of Perrysville, passed away at 7:05 a.m. EDT Thursday, May 7, 2020 at her residence.

She was born May 31, 1939 in Danville, Illinois the daughter of the late Theodore Edward and Gladys Henrietta (Miller) Flannery.

Rita married Martin Nasby Drummond on January 1, 1957 in Sterling, Indiana. He survives.

Other survivors include her children: Doug (Sherry) Drummond of Marshall, Indiana; Becky (Brian) Arnold of Crawfordsville, Indiana; Lisa Shuman of Danville, Illinois; Jeff Drummond of Perrysville, Indiana and David (Kelly) Drummond of Lafayette, Indiana; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; three sisters: Sharon (Guy) Nanny of Colorado; Nina (Sheridan) Underwood of Kentucky and Sue Dryer of Danville, Illinois; one brother: Ed (Cathy) Flannery of Fithian, Illinois.

Rita was preceded in death by her son: Michael Drummond and two sisters: Judy Flannery and Angel Turner.

Rita was a 1957 graduate of Oakwood High School. She enjoyed reading and working on crossword puzzles.

Per Rita's request cremation was accorded. Due to the current health crisis a Celebration of Life service and inurnment of cremains at Danville National Cemetery in Danville, Illinois will be scheduled at a later date. Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 8604 Allisonville Road, Suite 140, Indianapolis, Indiana 46250. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is assisting the family with arrangements.
