Ricky D. Butcher

Covington, Ind. - Ricky D. Butcher, 65, of Covington and formerly of Cayuga, Indiana, passed away at 10:08 a.m. EDT Friday, November 4, 2011 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital in Williamsport, Indiana. He was born May 17, 1946 in Clinton, Indiana, the son of the late Melvin and Jean Fletcher Butcher. Survivors include one daughter, Renae(Zeke)Norman of Dana, Indiana; one son, Travis Butcher of Newport, Indiana; three granddaughters, Madison Norman; Alexia Butcher and Airty Leach; two grandsons, Tristen and Ryder Holmes; five sisters, Paula Summers of Robinson, Illinois; Rhonda Warnick of Avon, Indiana; Kandi(Bill)Hawn of Defiance, Ohio; Debbie Morgan of Hillsboro, Indiana and Lisa(Wayne)Walters of Olive Branch, Mississippi; two brothers, Terry Butcher of Veedersburg, Indiana and Tony(Geri)Butcher of Attica, Indiana. He was preceded in death by one sister, Jeannie Hetrick. Ricky retired from C&D Battery in Attica, Indiana in 2005. He was a 1964 graduate of North Vermillion High School. He enjoyed raising and racing horses. Funeral services: 8 p.m. EST Monday, November 7, 2011 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Bob Fairchild; Visitation: 5 p.m. EST Monday, November 7, 2011 until time of services at the funeral home; Cremation following services with burial of cremains to be held at a later date at Wolfe Creek Cemtery near Wallace, Indiana.
