Rick Pollard

Rick Allan Pollard, 53 of Ridge Farm, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 6:45 PM at Presence USMC in Danville. He was born November 29, 1962 in Clinton, IN, son on Freeman and Nadine (Kiser) Pollard. On August 17, 1991 he was united in marriage to Dianne Vandevender in Hutsonville, IL. She preceded him in death on January 8, 2005. Surviving are his daughters, which were the light of his world, Kayla Pollard of Danville, and Kristina and Chianne Pollard both of Ridge Farm; grandchildren, Te'Aira, Zayn, and DaNiah; mother, Nadine Pollard of Georgetown; sister, Robin DeLarosa of Georgetown; nieces and nephew, Melissa Puckett of Olivet, and Jonathan Collins, Alexis and Sidney DeLarosa, all of Georgetown; great niece, Lylah Puckett; in-laws, Leroy and Elizabeth (Neild) Vandevender, John (Betty) Vandevender, and Connie (Laddie) Storckman all of Hutsonville, IL and Kay (Gary) Smith of St. Francisville, IL; as well as many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Freeman and loving wife, Dianne. Rick and Dianne attended Ridge Farm Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed watching sports and Sunlight Broadcasting Network. After his wife's passing he remained very close with her family and attended many events with them. Rick had spent endless hours with family and friends making special memories on their family farm. His biggest joy in life was raising and spending time with his daughters. A celebration of Rick's life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Sunset Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown. Rev. Clifford Farley and Pastor Troy Horne will officiate. Rick will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery in Ridge Farm. Military Honors will be performed by the Georgetown American Legion Dornblasers Post #203. Visitation will be held from 11-1 PM Saturday, June 25, 2016 prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials in Rick's name can be made to his daughters' education fund set up at First Financial Bank.
