Rick Leroy Ross

Danville Rick Leroy Ross, 70, of Danville passed away at 9:41 am with his family by his side at home on November 29, 2018.

Rick was born on February 17, 1948 the son of Calvin and Wilma (Hicks) Ross in Danville, IL. He married Connie J. Todd on June 8, 1974 in Danville, IL and she survives.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Connie Ross of Danville, IL; two daughters, Kimberly (Kevin) Coe of Playa Del Carmen, Mexico and Rhonda (Doug) Hardy of Danville, IL; one sister, Ellen (Bill) Burmeier of Aurora, IL; four grandchildren, Lauren Farnsworth of Westville, IL, Caleb Farnsworth of St. Louis, MO, Kyleigh (Zach) Davis of Cayuga, IN and Jordynn Hardy of Danville, IL; as well as two great-grandchildren, Drew and Dixon Davis both of Cayuga, IN.

Rick is preceded in death by his parents.

Rick served his country in the United States Marine Corp and was the Manager for the Goodyear Store in Danville for many years. He enjoyed spending his free time going to movies, Car Shows, working on cars and visiting WWII Museums. He was an avid Illini Basketball and Bears Football fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR races. Most of all, Rick loved vacationing with his family, especially to Alabama, and spending time with his grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday December 4, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Park, 3901 N. Vermilion Street, Danville, IL. Pastor Jay Sorrell will officiate. Military Rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 210. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion Street is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorials in Ricks memory are requested to the Disabled American Veterans or the Wounded Warrior Project.
