Richard Warren Lanham

Richard Warren Lanham, 88, of Danville, passed away at 10:48 AM May 2, 2012 at his residence. Richard was born on August 2, 1923 in Danville, the son of Walter Fredrick and Evelyn (Ingram) Lanham. He married Maryjane Tyrl on November 9, 1952 in Danville. She survives. He is survived by one son- William John (Patricia) Lanham of Alvin, two grandchildren- Shawn David Lanham and Tricia Annamari (Matthew) Owens, two great-grandchildren- Mattisyn Annamari Owens and Benjamin Scott and one step great-grandchild- Kenman Owens. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters. Richard retired from General Motors after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Sportsman's Club and the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. He loved swimming, fishing, mushroom hunting, ice skating, water skiing and traveling. A Celebration of Richard's Life will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. A visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 PM Sunday, May 6, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville.
