Richard W. Ohl, 83, of Danville passed away at 5:47 PM on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born on June 18, 1930 in Danville, the son of August and Pearl Moulton Ohl. He married JoAnn Ingram on March 17, 1956 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danville. She preceded him in death on March 26, 1999. He is survived by two sons, Mike (Connie) Ohl and James (Dawn) Ohl, both of Danville; four grandchildren, Chirstopher (Ashley) Ohl, Hannah, Heather, and Jacob Ohl; and a special friend, Sharon Walters. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents. After graduating high school, Richard served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. He worked as a store room clerk at Teepak until his retirement and played a large part in working on his familys farm. Richards family was important to him and his passion was helping them when he could. He loved to mow grass and could also be found working with his driving horses and carriages. Richard also had most recently attended Farmers Chapel United Methodist Church. Services for Richard will be private. Entombment will take place at Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville. Memorials in his name may be made to Farmers Chapel United Methodist Church.
