Richard W. "Dick" Fultz

Cayuga, Ind. -- Richard W. "Dick" Fultz, 79, of Cayuga, passed away at 1:33 p.m EST Saturday, March 5, 2011 at his residence. He was born May 7, 1931 in Cayuga, Indiana the son of the late Dora Mae Richmond and Leo Fultz. He married Anna Lou Asbury on January 29, 1961 in Montezuma, Indiana. She survives. Other survivors include his children, Byron(Margie)Fultz of Newport, Indiana; Marianne(Ralph)Burke of Stevensville, Michigan; Bonnilee(Jerry)Delp of Cayuga, Indiana and Rick(Patti)Donald of Covington; two step daughters, Sally Craft of Cayuga, Indiana and Suzanne Laney of Newport, Indiana; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two half sisters, Freda Fultz of Pennsylvania and Jeanne(Kerry)Lamb of Virginia; one half brother, Mack(Brenda)Fultz of Perrysville, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his two sons, David Fultz and Peter Craft; one sister, Joan Block; one half sister, Nikki Baker; one brother, Johnny Fultz. Dick was a millwright. He was a part time business agent for 5 years, full time business agent for 2 years and on the executive board for 10 years for the Millwright #1003 in Indianapolis. He was a former Vermillion County Commissioner serving four terms. He formerly worked at the Indiana Department of Transportation (I.D.O.T.) as a Operation Foreman (2 years), then as a Sub District Manager(10 years) in Crawfordsville and Veedersburg. He was currently serving on the Vermillion County Area Planning Commission(2010). Dick was very active in the Democrat party. His memberships included the Western Indiana Invitational Cutting Club, National Cutting Horse Association and the American Quarter Horse Association. Dick enjoyed collecting Bits & Spurs and Guns. He especially enjoyed raising horses and bird dogs. Funeral services: 1 p.m. EST Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Steve Vitaniemi and Dr. Andy Spencer; Burial: Thomas Cemetery in Newport, Indiana; Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. EST Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at the funeral home.
