Richard Vallangeon, 78, of Westville, passed away at 7:55am, Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Gardenview Manor Nursing Home, Danville. He was born on January 13, 1937, in Westville the son of Louis and Ruth {Mariage} Vallangeon, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by: his son, Richard Jr. (Emily); his grandchildren Zeddie his brothers, Robert, Andre, Donald, & Arsene; and his sisters, Mathilda Walz, Linda Stacey, Jean Richardson, & Claudette Cope. Those who will miss him include: his daughters, Pamela (Les) Scheffer of Lafayette, IN, Kimberly Clark of Lafayette, IN, & Kathy (Justin Cline) Stephens of Oakwood; his grandchildren, Travis, Christine, Tammy, Lesley, James, Corey, Harlie, Aaron, Kaylee, Jacob, & Caryannah; his several great grandchildren; his brothers, Claude (Elaine) Vallangeon of Perrysville & Ronald (Millie) Vallangeon of Westville; and his sisters, Gladys (Charles) Pickering of Westville & Sharon Nobel of Tilton. In 2000, Richard retired from Harrison Steel in Attica, IN. He was a member of the Westville Church of Christ. He enjoyed gardening, going fishing, & playing the guitar & harmonica. He was known to enjoy hot tea and visit his friends at the Two Brothers Restaurant. Most of all, Richard loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them. A celebration of Richards life will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, April 6, 2015, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville, with John E. Mincy officiating. Visitation will be held 12:00pm-2:00pm Monday before his service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in his name to Westville Church of Christ.
