Richard Parsons, Jr.

Richard Dale Parsons, Jr., also known to family and friends as "Red" or "Porky", was called home August 30, 2023 at 12:05 a.m. at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Centers ED in Danville.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Linda Parsons, children; Misty Parsons, Ashanti Parsons; grandkids, Philip and Josie Denny; great-nephew, Brylan Decker; nephew, Travis Decker; step-daughter and best friend Theresa and Ronnie Smith; and his fur baby, Scooter. He is also survived by sister Cheryl Parsons Dowers and Dwayne Louie Parsons Decker.

He had a smile and personality out of this world. He will be missed by all that know him. He was a tissue and organ donor. He will give someone else life.

He loved Chicago Bears, going fishing, and loved spending time with family and friends. He worked at AutoZone for 24 years.

He was preceded in death by his other, Naomi Vance Parsons; father, Richard D Parsons, Sr. and his brother, Jeffrey Scott Parsons.

Visitation will be 4 to 6 PM Friday, September 8, 2023 with a service at 6 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 North Vermilion, Danville, IL 61834.
