Richard Lee Mascari, 63, of Danville passed away at 2:55 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2004, at his residence. Richard was born June 14, 1941 in Danville to Peter and Betty (Barker) Mascari. Richard married Donna L. Wright on December 27, 1958, in Tilton, she survives. Other survivors include two sons, Donald (Stacie) Mascari of Oakwood and Michael A. Mascari of Danville, nine grandchildren: Sunny (Matt) Sutton, Blake Mascari, Jordan Calhoun, Michael Richard Mascari, Savannah Fugate, Shelby Lynn Mascari, Lee Andrew Mascari, Wade (Monster) Mascari and Hayley Ann (Hayday) Marie Mascari, his aunt and uncle John (Wanda) Mascari, aunt Lucille Karelas and several nieces and nephews. Richard's extended family includes Roberta (Mother Fletcher) Moreman, Judy (Sis) McFarland, Jimmy (Linda) Wright, Tiny (Candy) Wright, Bonnie (Larry) Hall, Cheryl Wright, Joy (Jo Jo) Wright, Reasty Sandlen, Karen (Grease) and Darrell Edwards, Franko and "The Chickens". Richard (Frog) had two special friends, Geno (Weazel) Warner and Donald (Duck) Duez. He also had one special neighbor Sally. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, his father-in-law Frank Wright, and two brother-in laws Don "Big Mac" Mc Farland and Frankie Wright. Richard retired as a lead man at Heat Craft with 29 years of service. He was a veteran serving with the United States Navy from 1958-1962. Richard was a committeeman with UAW Local 1271. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 754 serving as a past Grand Knight, Past Faithful Navigator of the 4th Degree, past District Deputy with the Illinois State Council and Coordinator of the Columbus Club. Richard was also a member of American Legion Post 210, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 728, Gao Grotto, Moose and the Illiana Antique Auto Club. Richard loved planning trips to Las Vegas, Tunica and especially the Cub/Cardinal trips that he helped organize for 15 years with the K of C. He had a lot of Cub friends who he allowed to go on the "Cardinal" trips. Richard loved playing Black Jack on the riverboats. He enjoyed his pontoon boat at the lake on "sunny" days. He also loved being around friends and family, having picnics, playing cards and drinking "Miller Lite". Richard loved God, life and his country.
