Champaign - Richard "Dick" Lee Kelley, 86, passed away on Friday January 19, 2018 at Presence Covenant Medical Center in Urbana, IL. He was born on December 16, 1931 in Anderson, IN to Hoover Bertram and Mary (Ashworth) Kelley. Dick married Carolyn Jo Condict on September 4, 1959 in Mattoon, IL. Dick is survived by his wife; children Sean (Amy) Kelley of Evanston, IL, Megan (Jim) Misner of Oreana, IL, and Jon (Tiffany) Kelley of Lake St. Louis, MO; grandchildren James Michael Misner, Benjamin Davis Misner, and Kaitlyn Jo Kelley; great-grandchildren Jaidyn, Logan, Connor, Jocelyn, and Wren; brothers John Kelley of Mattoon, Pat Kelley of Mattoon, and Mike Kelley of San Antonio, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents. Dick spent much of his time with Carolyn, the love of his life. He was an inspiring high school teacher as well as beloved coach and principal. Dick served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. A celebration of Dick's life will be held at 11am on Thursday January 25, 2018 at First United Methodist Church, 210 W. Church St, Champaign, IL 61820. Visitation will be held from 5pm-7pm on Wednesday January 24, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home, 710 N. Neil St. Champaign, IL 61820.
