Richard L. Rudolph

Newport, Ind. - Richard L. Rudolph, 72, of Newport and formerly of Cayuga, Indiana, passed away at 5:35 a.m. EDT Monday, April 22, 2013 at Vermillion Convalescent Center in Clinton, Indiana. He was born July 21, 1940 in Vermilion County, Illinois, the son of the late Hazel Marie Housey Mullins and Carl Henry Rudolph. He married Ellen J. Self on September 13, 1964 in Georgetown, Illinois. She preceded him in death on November 9, 2009. Survivors include his children, Chris L.(Amber)Rudolph of Gessie, Indiana; David D. Rudolph of Perrysville, Indiana; Shannon R.(Kenneth)Thomason of Newport, Indiana; Michael R.C.(Wendy Troop)Rudolph of Cayuga, Indiana and Jill Self of Newport, Indiana; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one stepsister, Kathryn Bolden of Bowman, Georgia and several nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by one sister, Beverly Mullins. Richard retired after 28 years at General Motors, last working in the core room. He enjoyed playing euchre, attending auctions, working on lawn mowers, camping, Indiana University Basketball and watching his grandchildren participating in sports at North Vermillion.
