Danville- Richard L. Dokey, 76, of Danville passed away at 9:25 AM on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Danville Care Center. He was born on April 10, 1936 in Danville to James Emery and Vivian Moore Dokey. He married Lois L. Mackey on February 14, 1975 in Danville. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Rick (Darlena) Dokey of East Peoria and Douglas Dokey of Danville; three daughters, Vicki (John) McCoy of Danville, Johna (James) Bolton of Potomac, and Cindy Elder of Tuscola, IL; two brothers, Jim (Pat) Dokey of Danville and Alfred (Sue) Dokey, also of Danville; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Carol Lappin and Marilyn Jean Tater, and his grandmother, Josephine Dokey. Richard was a 1954 graduate of DHS before going on to trade school for sheet metal working. He worked for the Henry Bireline Company until his retirement after 32 years. Richard was an avid golfer, enjoyed reading the Bible, and built and flew radio controlled airplanes. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandchildren. A graveside service for Richard Dokey will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Pastor Herb Smith will officiate. The family will accept friends from 10-11 AM at Sunset's Chapel Mausoleum in the Memorial Park prior to the graveside service.
