Richard Kargol Sr., 80, of Westville, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at his daughters home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on September 9, 1933, in Chicago, IL, the son of Alice Kargol. He was united in marriage to Katherine Emory in 1957 until her passing in 1973. He is survived by: his daughters, Marla (Kevin Kline) Smith of Westville and Karla Arnett of Danville; his two sons, Richard “Ricky” Kargol of Westville and Larry (Luella) Kargol of Danville; his grandchildren, Chad (Grace) Moore, Kayla (Jordan) Buck, Lacey Arnett, Jessica (Mike) Mueller, Tiffany Sapp, Earl Sapp, Chris (Tammy) Forrest, Jeremy (Cherinda) Kargol, Kathy (Robbie) Harper and Janie Hubbard; 20 great grandchildren and his dog, Daisy. He will also be missed by his special friend, Julie Gay and all his buddies at Julies. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Alice, and his great grandson, Daulton Mueller. Richard enjoyed gardening and designed many flower beds. They were all one of a kind designs and incorporated timber, rocks and ponds. He loved the challenge of fishing & was always a favorite at karaoke night. He was known to many to be very patriotic and a huge supporter of St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. He cherished the time spent with his family. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00am, Friday, May 9, 2014, at St. Marys Catholic Church with Father Sauppe officiating. Visitation will be 4pm-7pm, Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville, with a Rosary Service at 4pm. He will be laid to rest in Lithuanian National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in Richards name to St. Judes Hospital.
