Richard Jones

Richard Jones, 71, of Tilton, passed away at 1:36pm, Thursday, November 3, 2022, at his home. He was born on August 18, 1951, in Danville, the son of Herschel and Beverly {Davis} Jones, both deceased. He was united in marriage to Catherine Lane on October 16, 1971, until her passing on August 7, 2020. Richard will be dearly missed by his children, Bridgette (Christopher) Latoz, Tiffany (Herbert) McClellan, Ryan (Amber Delp) Jones, & Jonathan Jones; his grandchildren, Samuel (Kaleigh Wells) Jones, & Elizabeth Boyd-Jones; his great grandchild, Morrison MoJo Allen Jones; and his in-laws, Claudia (Kenny) Pickard, Marilyn Sollars, Mark Kuchefski, Frank Lane, & Steve (Pam) Lane; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins. He was preceded in death by parents; his brother, Daniel Lee Jones; his mother-in-law, Betty Lane; his sisters-in-law, Olivia Kuchefski & Bonita Lane; and his brother-in-law, Joe Lane. Richard was a proud Veteran of the US Army. He also worked as an Accountant at Holmes Brothers for many years. He was a wonderful family man and loved spending time with his children and cherished his grandchildren. He and Cathy enjoyed traveling all over after retirement. Richard also loved watching the Illini and St. Louis Cardinals. He will be dearly remembered by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of Richards life will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois 414 S State St. Westville, Illinois 61883 with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to his service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Songer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in his name to Vermilion County Animal Shelter or St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
