Richard A. Heath 84 of North Richland Hills, TX formerly of Danville passed away at 12:10 A.M. Wednesday October 2, 2007 at Emerald Hills Rehabilitation Center in North Richland Hills. He was born October 26, 1922 in Grand Rapids, MI, the son of Leroy and Herta Klahn Heath. He married Helen L. Rowlen on June 10, 1945 in Danville, they were married for 62 years, she survives, also two sons: James (Sandra) Heath of Arlington, TX, Richard Heath of North Richland Hills, TX, one daughter: Rowena (Robert) Mikkelsen of Keller, TX, a brother Ralph Heath of Danville, two sisters: Olive (Earl) Green of Alabama, Dorothy (DR. Kenneth) Beach of Jerseyville, IL, also six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Charles. Before retirement Richard worked in the occupational therapy department at the VA Hospital in Danville for 34 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the South Pacific during WWII earning a bronze star for bravery. Richard was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and N.A.F.E, former member of the American Legion Post 210. Most of all Richard loved and enjoyed working outdoors. A celebration of life funeral service will be 2:30 P.M. Sunday October 7, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Officiating the funeral will be Rev. DR. Jerry Short. Burial will be on Monday October 8, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at Sunset Memorial Park with Military Rites by the V.F.W. Post 728 Visitation for family and friends will be 5-8 pm Saturday October 6, 2007 at the funeral Home. Memorials can be made to the First Church of the Nazarene or the Salvation Army.
