Richard Grover Grisham

Mahomet - Richard (Dick) Grover Grisham, 82, passed away on Friday May 13, 2016 At Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. He was born on September 2, 1933 in Sorento, IL, the son of Archie & Edith (Reed) Grisham. Richard married Lorinda (Lynn) M. Christians on August 18, 1980 in Urbana. Richard is survived by his wife; daughters Cyndi (David) Reeser, DeAnna (David) Barber, Lori Lockyear, & Heather (Judd) Hayes; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters Sherrie (Richard) Coen & Linda (David) Grose. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one nephew. Richard served in the United States Army and Army Reserves. He was a member of the American Legion Post 24 and Color Guard. He worked for Illinois Bell as an engineer for 30 years before retiring in 1985, and then continued working as an engineering consultant for several companies until 2000. A memorial celebration of Richard's life will be held at Sunset Funeral Home Champaign, 710 N. Neil St., Champaign, on Saturday May 21, 2016 at 12:30pm with memorial visitation two hours prior from 10:30am to 12:30pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Richard's name to the American Heart Association.
