Richard Fentem

Richard Eugene Fentem lived a good life.

He was born in Chicago on June 22, 1939, to Jack and Doris Fentem and passed away on November 20, 2024.

Colchester, Illinois was where he grew up and on July 14, 1957, he married the love of his life, Karol S. Booth, to whom he was married for 67 years.

Richard had many other life achievements including parenting four children and having a lifetime career with Lauhoff Grain Co. (now Bunge)

His career grew with them and provided him opportunities to manage Lauhoff facilities in Wilkes Barre, PA; Crete, NB; and Bushnell, IL.

From 1970 until he retired at 61 years if age, he managed plant safety and worked in alliance with OSHA.

Following retirement, he used the newly found freedom to spend warmer winter months in Florida, golfing his days away.

Richard had many friends with special nicknames for him, especially on the golf course or at the poker table.

Many would say he was a "man's man."

His integrity was present in all that he did.

He was an honorable man, son, husband, father, granddad, uncle and friend.

Richard is survived by his wife, Karol; his daughters Kari (Gary) Roach; Kristy (Robert) Singletary; and Tracey Fentem; his son Ryan Booth Fentem; grandchildren Brittney (Tim) Krieg, Wayland (Jessica) Roach, Grayce (Luke) Daurer, Trent (Kayla) Singletary, Jessica (Scott) Shipley, Emma Fentem and Jaxson Fentem; great grandchildren Ellie Krieg, Penelope Roach, Cooper Roach, and Landon Singletary; and many genuine friends.

He leaves behind a legacy of family with wonderful memories of a life filled with fun and hard work.
