Richard Dick McKee, 63, of Georgetown passed away at 7:57pm, Sunday, June 20, 2010, at Provena USMC, Danville. He was born the son of Everett and Dorothy {Murray} McKee on January 31, 1947, in Paris, IL. He was united in marriage to Gerri Hillyer on March 29, 1980. She will miss him dearly. Others who also will miss him include: his mother, Dorothy McKee of Georgetown; his children, Rick (Theresa) McKee of Westville, Debbie (Aimee) Ottarski of Nashville, TN, Annette Kay (Hap) Nelson of State Line, IN, & Tammy (Todd) Satterlee of Georgetown; his grandchildren, Kyle Ottarski , Brent Ottarski, & Elijah Ottarski, all of Nashville, TN, Ashley Rhoden of Marshfield, IN, Richard Shane Nelson, Dylan Nelson, & Carrie Jo Nelson, all of State Line, IN, Michael Beauvois, Bradley McKee, & Derrick McKee, all of Westville, Robert Satterlee & Tyler Satterlee, both of Georgetown; his great grandchildren, Joey, Rhyle, & Lexi Beauvois, all of Westville; and his brother, Robert (Cheryl) McKee of Bryan, OH. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Everett, and his niece, Angela Lynn McKee. Richard was a proud veteran of the US Air Force and had served his country for 8 years. He was employed at Tee-Pak for 38 years. He was a member of the Local #686 & the Farm Bureau. Richard had a passion when it came to tending his vegetable garden and his flowers. He enjoyed & loved his three canine companions: Bandit, Tasha, & Snuggles. He loved his convertible car and was a faithful Chicago Cubs fan. He really loved his family and cherished time spent with his grandchildren. He was a very loving and devoted husband and the best dad that any child could ever have. He will be sincerely missed. A celebration of Richards life will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, June 24, 2010, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown. Pastor Leon Korb will officiate. A visitation will be held 4pm to 8pm, Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Hoult Cemetery with Military Honors being conducted by American Legion Dornblaser Post #203. Memorial donations may be given in Richards name to American Heart Association or American Diabetes Foundation.
