Richard “Dick” Haurez, 81, of Danville, passed away on January 26, 2014 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. He was born on October 29, 1932 in Danville, the son of Charles and Lena (Limauge) Haurez. He married Jean Pugh on May 11, 1956 in Williamsport, IN. They spent 50 wonderful years together. Jean preceded him in death in 2007. He will be deeply missed by one brother, Robert (Phyllis) Haurez of Seymour, IN, one sister in law, Betty (Harold) Wilson of Monticello, IN, one niece, Jamie (Dave) Pearson of Attica, IN, one nephew, Randall (Deseree) Haurez of Crothersville, IN, two great nieces, twins Jackie and Jennie Pearson and one great nephew, Coleman Haurez. Dick was preceded in death by his parents and wife. He was a graduate of Oakwood High School in 1950 and went on to work for R&S Printing Co. for 39 years as an offset pressman. He was in the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War. He loved trapshooting, hunting, wood-working and hiking with his wife Jean. A celebration of Dicks life will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville with Matt Harmless officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00-3:00 PM prior to the service. Dick will be laid to rest at Oakhill Cemetery in Danville. Memorials can be made in Dicks name to Presence Hospice or the charity of the donors choice.
