Richard 'Dick' Clark

Richard (Dick) Wallace Clark passed away peacefully and into the arms of Jesus on September 23, 2021, just a few hours after his 65th wedding anniversary to his beloved wife.

He was born to Richard and Evelyn (Scott) Clark on April 6, 1933, in Danville, Illinois. Richard married Doris J. (Mitchell) Clark on September 22, 1956. They shared a very special kind of love, one like the love story in The Notebook. Their love for each other was unconditional. Together they had two children, Roger (Julie) Clark and Pam (Greg) Barrett. They were blessed with seven grandchildren, Amber (Brad) Bennett, Andrew (Jayde) Baumeister, Kayla (Kevin) Stoffel, Cody, Katelyn (Darren) White, Kalinda (Alex) Pelham, and Brooke (Josh) Allen. They also had 12 great-grandchildren, Declan and Dryce Baumeister, Isabella Pearman and Chandler Pelham, Landon and Layton White, Gabriel Clark, Eisland Porter Bennett, and Rigby Fox Bennett, Tyler Hansen, Violet and Scarlett Stoffel.

He is survived by his children, seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many lifelong friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, Robert and Jerry (Tinker) Clark and two sisters Donna Williamson and Judy Wakeland.

Richard served 4 years in the Navy. He then worked construction as a heavy machine operator until retirement. Even after retirement, he always enjoyed jumping into a piece of equipment and working wherever there was a need. Second to his love for his wife, Dick loved being a cowboy. He loved training horses, riding horses, and catching wild cows. Even on his last days he talked about buying a horse, waiting in line to purchase a cowboy hat and boots, and moving to Texas to be a cowboy, again. He and his wife were members of the South Side Church of Nazarene in Tilton for many years and also enjoyed visiting other local churches throughout the community. His witness for his Savior was evident in his love for Jesus. He was a powerful prayer warrior, dinners will not be the same without him saying Grace. He loved spending time with his wife and family, being a cowboy and sitting on the deck watching his grandchildren and great-children play while listening to gospel music.
