Richard C. 'Buzz' Mcnally

Obituary for Richard C. McNally “Buzz” During the early morning hours of March 4th, 2015 Richard passed away suddenly at Carle Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. He was 49 years old. Richard was a long time resident of the Champaign-Urbana area. Richard was born in the city of Chicago on February 16, 1966. He was the oldest son of John R. and Lorraine C. McNally. Richard grew up in both the City of Chicago and the town of Cicero. He attended Our Lady of Charity grade school beginning in the fifth grade. He went to Nazareth Academy for the beginning of his High School career and eventually graduated from Morton East High School. He was a fan of the Grateful Dead for as long as many who knew him can remember. Richard served briefly in the United States Navy. He loved to cook and spent most of his life doing so at various different restaurants and even at the University of Illinois campus in Champaign. Those who knew Richard would all agree that he was a very compassionate and caring person. He could lite up a room even if he wasnt feeling cheerful at the time. He loved to have a good time no matter what he was dealing with in life at that moment. Richard was very fond of our mothers last dog, Opie. He always enjoyed seeing him when he would visit. He was a friend of Bill W. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, John R. McNally and Lorraine C. McNally, as well as his paternal grandparents, Charles and Florence McNally and his maternal grandparents, Frank and Shirley Bishop. Richard is survived by his siblings, Margaret (Dan) Monzani, Kevin, James and Thomas McNally and Mary (Brian) Lehmann. He is also survived by his nephew, Zachary Tyler Lehmann. Memorial services are still being planned at this time to honor Richards memory and information will be provided at a later date. A memorial fund has been set up in his name to help the family honor his memory.
