Richard Allen Jones

Richard Allen Jones, 60, of Danville, IL passed away at 4:38 AM on March 20, 2026 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Richard was born on October 11, 1965 in Paris, IL the son of Richard B. and Ruth Ann (Thomas) Jones. He married Jeanne Ann Terrell on June 7, 1986 in Danville, IL and she survives.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Ann Jones of Danville, IL, son, Michael (Juliameera) Jones of Rossville, IL, three grandchildren, Violet Jones, Yashua Karathra and Nyla Karathra, one sister, Carol (Scott) Chalkus of Salem, IL and three nieces, Michelle Chalkus, Brittany Chalkus and Cheyanne Chalkus.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents.

Richard worked for many years as a Custodian for Danville District 118 at the High School. He enjoyed spending his free time taking bicycle rides, camping, hiking, attending rummage sales and going to thrift shops as well as antiquing. Most of all, Richard loved spending time with his family.

As per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be made in Richard’s memory to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
