Richard Allen Hall, 91, of Danville passed away at 2:15pm on July 4, 2018. Richard was born in Arkansas City, Kansas the son of Ira E. and Vera Mae Hall on May 17, 1927. On January 20, 1948 he married the love of his life Virginia June Bartlett and they spent the next 65 years together before her passing on June 12, 2013. Richard is survived by his daughter, Brenda Dawson of Danville and son, David Bartlett Hall of Fayetteville, NC., 4 Grandchildren, Bridgette Palermo-Frazier, Allen McAlpin, Heather Munro, Tim Hall, Karen Stossmeister,8 great- great grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Richard worked as an Estimating engineer for the O'Neil Bros. for 53 years before his retirement. He served in the Navy during World War II. Richard enjoyed the outdoors including hunting, fishing and even yard work. He was fond of travel and in younger years could be found riding his 1944 Indian Motorcycle or flying small airplanes. In his spare time, he like to play cards and bowling. Richard and June loved to dance and spending time with family was very important to them. Richard was a loving and very compassionate person who always wanted to hear laughter and see smiles and for this he will be deeply missed. Richard will be laid to rest with his wife June at Danville National Cemetery, on July 24th 2018 Arrangements are being made at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville.
