Rhea Lyons, 76, of Alvin passed away at 12:02pm Sunday January 6, 2008 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Rhea was born April 9, 1931 in Diamond Springs, Kentucky the son of Carl & Essie Fleming Lyons. On November 27, 1954 he married Betty Sue Alexander in Lewisburg, Kentucky she preceded him on December 7, 2007. He is survived by his son Jim (Carolyn) Lyons of Danville; grandchildren Sarah Lyons and Brad Lyons both of Danville; brothers Aldwin (Dorothy) Lyons of Lewisburg, Ky. and Kenneth (Rebecca) Lyons of Danville, Il.; sisters Magdalene White, of Lewisburg, Ky., Sally Pogue of Lansing, Il., and Fae Shelton of Melvin, Il., ; sister in laws Othello Reynolds of Danville, Il. and Mary Jean Waldrop of Wichita, Ks.; also many nieces and nephews. Rhea retired from Heatcraft after 40 years of service. Veteran of the U.S. Army. Was an avid Illini and Cubs fan, and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. He was a member of the Oak Forest Baptist Church in Lewisburg, Ky. and a former member of the Kickapoo Archery Club. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, parents, and two sisters Katherine Whitaker and Lorraine Lyons. A celebration of Rheas life will be held at 10:00am on Thursday January 10,2008 at 10:00am. Officiating Pastor Tim Cary. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4-8:00pm at the funeral home. Entombment Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum.
