Rezetta "Rozy" Smalls

Rezetta “Rozy” Smalls, 46, of Rantoul passed away Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024, at home.

She was born Sept. 14, 1978, on Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, a daughter of Rochell Mercer.

She is survived by her mother; son, Trae Mercer-Martin of Rantoul; and brother, Alex Gomes of Rantoul.

She had an intense love for learning, earning multiple degrees. She was a U.S. Army combat veteran, earning a Purple Heart among various other medals and commendations.

A celebration of life will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at Lux Memorial Chapel, 1551 E. Grove Ave., Rantoul.
