Rexford 'Rex' Fluno Jr.

Rexford Rex H. Fluno Jr., 81, of Danville, passed away at 10:40 a.m. Monday, May 2nd, 2011 at his home. Rexford was born on March 16th, 1930, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, the son of Rexford H. and Erma Dell (Wells) Fluno Sr. He married Helen Bailey on December 21st, 1963 in Danville. She preceded him in death on February 10th, 1984. He is survived by two sons- Shawn Fluno of St. Joseph, Illinois and Mark (Robin) Fluno of Danville; daughter- Ann Kapella of Danville; two brothers- Jack (Pat) Fluno of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin and Jere (Anne) Fluno of Lake Forest, Illinois; two sisters- Joyce Fritz of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin and Joan Maier of Chelsea, Michigan; three grandchildren- David Fluno, Elizabeth Kapella and Caitlyn Fluno all of Danville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and sister- Jacqueline Fluno. Rex graduated from Lincoln High School, in Wisconsin Rapid, Wisconsin, in 1948. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1948 to 1952. He worked for Teepak for 35 years, until he retired in 1991. He was a member of VFW #728, American Legion Post #210 and a past member of the Elks Club. He enjoyed playing golf, watching movies, traveling to Florida and reading history books. A Celebration of the life of Rexford Rex H. Fluno Jr. will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7th, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home. Burial will follow the service in Sunset Memorial Park, with full military rites conducted by American Legion Post #210. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
