Rex D. Lovell, 57, of Georgetown, passed away at 1:20am, Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at his home. He was born on September 24, 1955, in Danville, IL, the son of Billy Ray and Alice {Hutchison} Lovell, both deceased. He was united in marriage to Thelma K. Chitwood on August 3, 1978, in Danville, IL. She will miss him dearly. He is also survived by: his sons, Michael (Eleshia) Powell & Thomas (Shirley) Powell; his daughters, Patricia Whitiker, Lisa (Keith) Bell, & Charlene (Archie) Trussel; his grandchildren, Michael, Leslie, Gregory, Kaitlyn, Aliceson Powell, Tiffany Miller, Samantha, Michael E., William E. Powell, Breezy Whitiker, Melanie Hunt, Michael Trussel, Marissa Sanford, Melissa Thomas, Andy Williamson, Ashley Proctor, Franklin, Faith, Brooklyn, & Destiny Bell; his fourteen great-grandchildren; his brother, Clifford (Missy) Lovell; his sisters, Pamela Edmond & Missy Lovell; his several nieces & nephews; his special pet, Rudy; and his special friends, Raymond & Helen from Newport, IN, and Tina Charles & Bob Patterson. He was preceded in death by: his brother, Billy Joe Lovell; his maternal grandparents, Joseph & Gladys Hutchison; his paternal grandparents; his grandson, Thomas Powell Jr.; his son-in-law, John Whitiker. Rex graduated from Danville High in 1972. He was a mechanic and had a towing business. He enjoyed bingo, races, & fishing. Rex attended the Harvest Time Christian Church. He really enjoyed spending time with his family especially with his grandkids & great grandkids. Rex was especially fond of sitting on his front porch and admiring his flowers. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Niccum Cemetery, Danville. Sunset's Houghton-Leasure is assisting with arrangements.
