Rex Aaron Hinkle Sr., 81, of Henning, passed away at 6:51 p.m. on Monday, April 4, 2005 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. He was born on October 29, 1923 in Dolson Township in Illinois, the son of Henry Herman and Clara A. (Hutchings) Hinkle. He married Kathryn V. Haven on January 20, 1945 in Kentucky. She survives. He is also survived by 3 sons- Rex Aaron (Kathy) Hinkle Jr. of Mountain View, California, David Eugene Hinkle of Mountain View, California, and Stephen Ray Hinkle of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 1 daughter- Trish (David) Walter of Oakwood, Illinois; 5 brothers- G. Dean (Jo) Hinkle of Charleston, North Carolina, George (Sue) Hinkle of Bismarck, Illinois, Nolan (Gladys) Hinkle of Indianapolis, Indiana, Don Hinkle of Catlin,, Illinois, and Ken (Ruth) Hinkle of Collinsville, Illinois; 2 sisters- Lorriane King of Rock Hill, South Carolina and Rosie (Ben) Huddleston of Joliet, Illinois; 1 Brother-in-law- Den Newlan; 4 grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son- Bobby Hinkle and 2 sisters- Leila Gibson and Ruth Newlan. Rex graduated from Robinson High School in 1941. He worked as a construction worker and was a member of Local 624. He was a member of a non-denominational church where he enjoyed spending time with his fellow church members. Rex also enjoyed raising hogs and gardening. He loved to read and do woodworking. He also loved traveling to Hawaii, California and Yellowstone National Park.
