Rena LaVerne Bullock, 92, of Danville, passed away at 11:30 a.m. Monday, February 13th, 2012 at the Hawthorne Inn in Danville, where she resided the past ten years. Rena was born on February 2nd, 1920, in Vermilion County, the daughter of Ray C. and Grace L. (Esworthy) Yeats. She was the 3rd child of 10. On April 29th, 1967, Rena married Maurice Bullock. They moved to Decatur where they both managed Bullock Garages of Decatur. They moved back to Danville after retiring in 1979. Rena enjoyed her family, friends and lived her life to the fullest. She enjoyed cooking, baking and helping others. Rena is survived by four sisters- Ruby Stacey, Ginny (Harold) Auter, Ruth Weaver and Wilma (Robert) Courson all of Danville; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband-Maurice, two brothers- Raymond and Melvin Yeats, three sisters- Fauntella Collings, Dorothy Richmond and Janice Ramsey, one nephew- Ray Yeats and one great-nephews- Larry Jenson. A Celebration of the life of Rena LaVerne Bullock will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 16th, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home, with Pastor Curtis Darling officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Oakridge Cemetery in Catlin. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
