Reita Seimer 67 of Muncie, Il, passed away at 8:25 am Wednesday April 20, 2005 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born November 1, 1937 in Casey the Daughter of Clement and Betty Shiels Kirkpatrick. Reita married Mark Seimer on November 1, 1955 in Danville, he survives also her mother Betty Kirkpatrick of Danville, two sons; Doug (Betty) Seimer and Todd Seimer both of Danville, two brothers; Ben (Diane) Kirkpatrick of Covington, In, Tom Kirkpatrick of Danville, two sisters; Judy (Frank) Olinger of Danville, Jeannie (Roy) Mercer of Moline, also one step-grandson Zac Edwards of Danville. She was preceded in death by her father in 1993 Reita was presently the Oakwood Township tax assessor for the past 20 years. She was a member of the Muncie Baptist Church where she was deeply involved, teaching Sunday School and directing the Junior Choir which had over 40 members at one time. Reita was instrumental in starting the Muncie Live Nativity Scene which has been popular through the years. She was the chairman of the Muncie Community Center Board and a member of the Fithian Womens Club. Reita had a passion for her miniature Schnauzer dogs Hannah and Fanny; she was a member of the Champaign-Urbana Dog Training Club and the Champaign hit Squad fly ball dog racing team. Reita enjoyed taking meals to the fields during planting and harvesting seasons, she was an avid Illini fan and loved to watch church softball teams play, most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
