Rebecca Bowman

Rebecca J. Bowman, 70, passed away on January 11, 2026, at her home in Perrysville. She was born on October 24, 1955, in Crawfordsville, Indiana to Robert “Bob” and Barbara (Sloan) Janeway. They both preceded her in death. Becky married the love of her life, Michael Bowman, on June 2, 1973, and the two shared 53 years of memories before her passing.

A graduate of Fountain Central High School, Becky dedicated over 23 years as a clerk at the Wabash Handy Mart in Perrysville. Her warm smile and easygoing nature made her a favorite with customers. She was always kind, genuinely helpful, and left a positive impression on everyone she met. Becky found joy in reading and gardening and was an avid collector, especially of Longaberger baskets and Precious Moments. She also cherished spending time with her grandchildren.

Becky is survived by her husband Mike Bowman; her children Robin (Joe) Thoma and Cory (Samantha) Bowman; her sister Beverly (Ernie) Hinkle; as well as her grandchildren Lincoln, Jackson, Sloan, and Gunner.

Per Becky’s wishes, cremation will take place with a visitation being held from 12 pm – 2:00 pm EST on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Home’s DeVerter Chapel, located at 215 N. Division Street in Cayuga, IN. A memorial service celebrating her life will immediately follow at 2 pm that afternoon, also at the funeral home. She will be placed to rest at Hicks Cemetery in Perrysville at a later date.
