Rebecca Anne Lyons

Danville Rebecca Anne Lyons, 83, of Danville, IL passed away at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana at 8:40 PM on December 24, 2022.

Rebecca Anne Lyons was born on January 30, 1939 to Everett and Vinnie (Keller) Alexander in Bainbridge, KY. She married Kenneth Lyons on March 19, 1955 in Lewisburg, KY and he survives.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Lyons of Danville, IL, one son, Wendell Rhea Lyons, two grandchildren, Jason Kenneth Lyons and JoEllen (Kevin) Alicie, three great-grandchildren, Marcus, Anna and Daimen Alicie.

Rebecca is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Robert Lyons, her sisters, Othello Reynolds, Mary Jean Waldrop and Betty Sue Lyons, and two nephews, Paul Glendon Reynolds and Jim Lyons.

Rebecca was a member of Farmers Chapel United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included reading, crocheting, camping, Bunco and B.I.N.G.O.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Jie Wu will officiate. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 PM on Friday, December 30, 2022 at the funeral home.

Memorial may be made in Rebeccas memory to the Farmers Chapel United Methodist Church or a charity of the donors choice.

When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand that an angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand; The angel said my place was ready, in heaven far above and that I'd have to leave behind all those I love. But when I walked through heaven's gate, I felt so much at home, for God looked down and smiled at me and told me "Welcome home". So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart, for every time you think of me, I'm right there in your heart.
