Danville – Reba J. Draper, 83, of Danville passed away at 12:49 PM on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at her home. She was born on November 7, 1942, in Versailles, KY to William and Ruth (Hudson) Barrett. She first married Don Stine, with whom she had three sons. Following Don’s passing, she married William R. Draper on December 24, 1969, in Danville. He preceded her in death in 2009.
She is survived by her three sons, Donald (Leann) Stine of Danville, Darin Stine of Danville, and Mark (Robin) Stine of Williston, FL; ten grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; sister, Arlene Nichols of Tilton; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings.
Along with her husband William, Reba owned and operated a farm outside of Danville. Outside of farming full-time, she kept busy raising her sons and working in her garden. In her free time, Reba enjoyed hunting for arrowheads and other Indian artifacts of which she amassed an impressive collection over the years. Reba’s prized collection, however, was her “museum” of Elvis memorabilia and merchandise. She was a huge fan of “The King” and would rarely pass up an opportunity to add something new to the display. Reba could also be found cheering on her favorite teams, the Chicago Bears and the Fighting Illini.
A service to celebrate the life of Reba J. Draper will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834. Burial will follow at Danville National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:30 – 11:30 AM prior to the service on Monday, also at Sunset in Danville. Memorials in her name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to the Disabled American Veterans.
Please join Reba’s family in sharing memories, photos, and videos of her life through her tribute wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
