Raymond L. Williford was born March 9, 1933 the son of James and Ora Williford. He had a brother, James and a sister, Doris. Ray was born again as a young man, when he gave his life to Christ. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Georgetown, IL. for over 30 years. He helped build a parsonage for that church, and he worked as a custodian at the Pinecreek Grade School in Georgetown. He is preceded in death by his parents, both siblings and one niece. He is survived by his sister-in-law Betty Williford and great nephew Kevin Pichon. Ray moved to Champaign and became a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Urbana, in 2004. Although at times, he struggled with breathing issues, he was faithful to Sunday morning and Sunday evening services. As the condition worsened, he required oxygen and was no longer able to attend but he was always interested in church friends and pastors. He enjoyed doing artwork in recent years. He lived at the Paxton Healthcare Facility in Paxton, IL. in his last few weeks where he continued to make new friends. He had a sweet kind spirit and he was a blessing to be around! His earthy life ended Friday, May 18th but his heavenly life began, immediatelyhe's at home with his savior!
