DANVILLE - Raymond W. Henthorn, 77, of Danville passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014 at home surrounded by his family. Born June 5, 1937 in Blount Township, he was the son of Orval and Mildred (Huffman) Henthorn. On October 12, 1963 he married Gloria Langellier in Home Gardens, Illinois. Ray was a member of Old Union Church of Christ in Danville. Raymond farmed for many years, and was a pressman for R & S Printing for over 40 years. The last 20 years of his working career Raymond owned and operated Rays Canvas Shop where he enjoyed making boat covers. Raymond was a hard worker, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Some of the greatest times where many great memories were made, was the annual vacation the family took to Missouri. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Gloria Henthorn; three children, Nedra Kae (John) Greene of Carmel, IN, Anita (Alan) Longest of Alvin, and Douglas Henthorn of Danville; one brother, Robert Henthorn; five grandchildren, Ashley (Ryan) Catt of Westfield, IN, Allison (Dave) Collier of Indianapolis, IN, Cameron Greene of Florida, Danielle (Jake) Wright of Bismarck, Cody Longest of Alvin; one great grandchild, Hudson Collier; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A service to celebrate Raymonds life will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 28th at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Pastor Raymie Gordon will officiate, and burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 27th at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Raymonds name to A.R.C. of Iroquois County, or to the donors choice.
